About the Founder

I looked like the American Dream—Harvard, MIT, IBM, Stanford. But behind the high-performance résumé was someone silently drowning under chronic illness and unspoken pressure.

That story is no longer a secret—it’s my calling.

Today, as a seasoned software product veteran and the founder of AbilityCatalyst, I speak to audiences across industries about invisible disability, workplace resilience, and what it really takes to build cultures where people don’t have to hide to survive. My talks blend raw honesty, humor, movement, and cultural storytelling to move hearts—and fundamentally shift how organizations think about health, identity, and truly inclusive leadership.

With over 20 years in tech, I bring depth and credibility to the stage. My professional career has centered around building beautiful, sustainable software projects, including SAAS websites, desktop and mobile software, and even multiplayer video games. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a Master's degree in Design for Education from Stanford University. I'm also deeply embedded in the hackathon scene, with top placements at Google and Twitter, knowledge I leveraged to launch my own e-commerce startup, Joya Flags, in 2016, reaching customers from Korea to New Zealand, America to Germany.

Having lived through chronic health collapse and led in tech for two decades, I understand both sides of the coin. Most teams have no idea how to support employees who look fine but are barely hanging on—a phenomenon I call 'quiet drowning.' It’s not quiet quitting; it’s a silent struggle that costs companies brilliant people and untapped potential. I help companies stop losing these talented individuals. I teach leaders how to recognize quiet drowning, respond with empathy, and build truly resilient teams that defy the impossible.

Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I watched my parents struggle to make a life for themselves in the United States. This deeply personal journey, combined with overcoming my own challenges, fuels my passion for helping communities and empowering organizations to create environments where every individual, regardless of their hidden battles, can thrive.
